including car racing... or there might be some racing just no fans...

Which made me think... why do we want to put drivers in dangerous situation? Why not ... Autonomous car racing...

As if E-Sports weren’t already gaining tons of popularity, this will elevate them even more.

I was all about that autonomous racing years ago son

Also, someone else mentioned a virtual race between the F1 drivers as a place-holder event. Do it for fun, no championship points or anything.

I’m running iRacing’s Sebring 12 hour this weekend. It’s going to be a fun race but I’m a bit deflated about it now that the real race is postponed to November.

Sim- racing feels like the most legitimate of all the eSports because if you’re good here, you’d be reasonable in an actual machine . There’s a lot of overlap in terms of skill , and now that manufacturers are investing in sim events (from Gran Turismo to iRacing to Assetto Corsa), it se ems like there is a clear path to being a race driver by being a sim-racer.

Which isn’t to say LoL or DoTA or CSGO aren’t legit, but an outsider may appreciate sim- racing way more than those three games even if those three have massive prize pools and actual wages to pros (relative to sim- racing which has just emerged).

I also have to add that the PCup car is a bitch to drive in iRacing. Damn thing tries to kill you every corner.
